Still in Florida

We are still enjoying the sun rays of Florida. It has been hot but we have tried to time our time in the sun. We have enjoyed the ocean and the pool a lot. Here are a couple pictures. Jack and the "beached whale":
These are some sand dollars we saw on the beach.
Friday we took another drive loop to look at some more RV campgrounds. We left St. Pete Beach area and headed to the east/south areas. We first stopped at Bartow park - Good Life. This was a nice park but it didn't have any cable TV availability; and it was kind of out in the middle of no where. Then we went on down towards Avon Park area. We stopped at Adelaide Shores RV Park. This is a very nice park. But the management was not there to talk to - guess they take Fridays off during the summer. But we did go ahead and drove around the park. It was clean and nice big lots. Big recreation hall and pool. Also, they have an 100 acre lake right behind it. Nice walking trail around the lake. We really liked this park.

Then we went on down to Sebring area. Really Avon Park and Sebring are real close together and Sebring has everything you would need. It was much bigger and nicer than we thought this area would be. Oh there is a WalMart within a few miles of Adelaide Shores. We visited a park called Buttonwood Bay. This is a large park, has a lot of park models, has a fishing lake, two large recreation halls. Has lots of activities. This park I would say is older than Adelaide Shores. Their lots were not as wide and level as some of the other parks.

Right now we are leaning towards Adelaide Shores as our next winter home. But we need to talk to them and get some more details on the expenses, etc. But based on their web site they seem to be reasonable. Here is the only picture we got of the park.

Yesterday we went to a large flea market here in St. Pete and then to an Art Fair. Both were pretty good. The flea market is a big one that we have gone to before but it seem to us that it wasn't as good as it is in the winter months. Art fair was nice but DeAnn it wasn't anything like the Fountain Hills' one.

We will be heading back to Kansas City on Tuesday. Hope the weather is good that day. The Midwest is sure having more than their share of severe storms. Looks like Indiana and Illinois is having terrible rains. Even heard this a.m. that Ohio had some storms too. Hope things are all right with Rick and Wendy.

Later today we are going up to a RV park called Bay Bayou which is in the Northern part of Tampa. Barbara Howard told us about this one. We will let you know about it later.

I'm a Brit who spends winters in Buttonwood Bay and I love it.

Feel free to check out my blog posts that relate to the park (use the search box at the top of it) or ask me any questions you may have.

When you sare heading north, turn left and visit the Panhandle where the beaches and water are the best in the state. Try out the new Perdido Cove RV Resort & Marina in Perdido Key, just west of Pensacola.

I think Dave and Darlene will be at Adelaide Shores. We are in Indiana and have had some hard rain and wind but nothing severe where we are. Have a safe trip home.
